The Continuous Price & Volume scan searches for securities that have displayed x number consecutive bars with an increase of close price and volume, over a specified time period.

Properties

This scan would search for securities that display 3 consecutive bars with a higher close price and a higher volume. The scan would use the closing prices based on Daily bars.

Direction

  • Higher Price & Volume
    Select this option to scan for securities that are have increased in Price and Volume.
  • Lower Price & Volume
    Select this option to scan for securities that are have decreased in Price and Volume.

Number

Select the number of consecutive bars to scan for. Selecting 3 will mean 3 consecutive bars need to have either a higher or lower open, high, low or close price than the bar preceding it.

Period Type

This setting sets the period type to use when selecting the close price for the Continuous Price & Volume scan. For example, by selecting Daily, the % Continuous Price & Volume scan will be calculated off the close price of a day bar period (a daily chart), if it was set to Weekly, it would be calculated off the close price of a Weekly bar period (a weekly chart). You can select from the following options.

  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly
  • Yearly
