The Data Hypothesizer allows you to add future bars to any chart as a training tool.  As you apply additional bars to the chart each tool you applied to current data updates accordingly.  Using this function you can play out various scenarios such as a rise in price, fall in price, sideways market, etc.

Watch your tools and indicators react to each situation and refine your trading plan accordingly.

Enabling the Data Hypothesizer

To enable the Data Hypothesizer, open a chart.  Left click on a blank area of the chart and go to the Control Panel on the left hand side of the screen.

A watermark will be added to the chart background to confirm the Data Hypothesizer is active.

Adding Future Bars

With the Data Hypothesizer enabled, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard.  Place your mouse cursor at the end of the chart, hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse in the direction you wish the bars to display.

Modifying a Future Bar (Single)

By default the future bars applied will use the same range as the last “real” bar displayed on the chart.  Each part of the bar (Open, High, Low, Close) can be manually adjusted once the bar has been placed on the chart.

Adjustments can be made by hovering over the item you wish to adjust (high for example), holding down the left mouse button, and sliding the mouse up or down.  Once you have made the desired change release the left mouse button.

Modifying Future Bars (Group)

To select multiple bars at the same time, hold the Shift key down on your keyboard, hold the left mouse button down and drag your cursor from the first bar you wish to select, to the last bar.  Once all desired bars have been selected release the left mouse button and Shift key.

All selected bars will highlight in yellow:

With the bars selected you can move their position as a group by holding down the left mouse button, and sliding the mouse up or down.  Once you have made the desired change release the left mouse button.

Future Bar Colour

By default all future bars will display as solid purple bars.  This is to ensure they can be distinguished between real market data.

Manually Editing Future Bars

To manually edit future bars, right click on a blank area of the chart.  Go to the Actions icon and select Edit Hypothesizer Data.

The Edit Hypothesizer Data window will display:

You can manually adjust any of the values displayed simply by left clicking on the item.

Additionally you can Add / Remove bars via a right click menu.
