Step 1 - Signing up for a trial account.

To sign up for a trial of Morningstar data please email the request to Litsa.Magklogianni@morningstar.com You should receive a response within 24 hours.

Step 2 – Contacting the Market Analyst Sales Team

You will also need to ensure you have access to the External Data Access module which is included in all of our data packages (Australian EOD package starting from $49 per month).  To arrange a trial of this module, or to set up a subscription please call the sales team on 1300 655 262.

Step 3 - Enable the Morningstar Data exchanges.

With Market Analyst open, left click the Settings menu and select the Configure Data Providers option.

In the window displayed locate the Morningstar option, left click it and select Next.



In the window displayed enter your user name and password details, and left click the Test Account button.  The words User Name and Password Valid should display just below the Test Account button.



With the login details validated click the Next button to continue.

In the window displayed left click the data exchange(s) Morningstar have enabled for you to trial, then click the > button.



Once the exchange has been added to the right hand side, click Next to continue.

Click the Finish button to complete the process.

Step 4 - Opening a chart using the Morningstar data feed.

With the program restarted press F3 on your keyboard.  The Data File selector window will open.

Left click the exchange folder you enabled for Morningstar data.

Left click in the Type Code field and enter the security code you wish to view and press Enter on your keyboard.  The chart will open and you will have access to Intraday time frames.
