Step 4 - Workbooks

Market Analyst provides you with a unique way of organising your charts into pages within a workbook.

A Market Analyst Workbook can have an unlimited number of pages, and on each of those pages there can be an unlimited number of charts. A page can consist of Bar Charts, Swing Charts, Notes, or any of the other Market Analyst Charts. A chart can then consist of any number of windows. Each window holds any number of data displays, tools, and/or indicators.  To view several articles on workbooks click here.

Step 5 -  Templates

Templates are a great time saving function in Market Analyst.  Templates allow you to set up a page, or workbook using various time frames, tools and chart styles and have those settings used for any new pages that you open.  For example, if you always use a 150 period Moving Average on your charts, and prefer Swing Relations as your Bar Chart’s colour scheme, you can set up this layout once as a Template.  With that Template selected, all new charts that you open will display the Moving Average and preferred Colour Scheme.

Step 6 - Scanning Manager

The Market Analyst Scanning Manager has been designed as an instrument to save you time.  Where in the past there was a need to manually look over charts, Market Analyst has automated the process for you.  Simply enter in your scan’s criteria, the data you want to scan and the date at which the criteria needs to be met, and Market Analyst does the rest.

Step 8 - Training Mode

Implementing a new trading plan, or testing an existing one can often be a time consuming exercise, as you need to wait for the days to pass before results start appearing. To overcome this, Market Analyst brings to you an excellent training tool called the Trade Tracker, which allows you to do in minutes what would otherwise take weeks. With a couple of clicks of the mouse, you can take your chart back in time two weeks or even two years, and simply add one bar at a time, effectively giving you a real trading simulation. While your charts are updating, all of the indicators that you have applied are also updating, allowing you to see weeks of trading action within a matter of minutes.

Step 10 - Sector Map

For many years a good way to pick stocks was to compare its performance relative to others in the same sector.  To be thorough you would also need to compare different sectors to see which way the sectors were moving.  All of this added up to many scans and many hours spent studying charts to see how the stocks and sectors compared.    Not anymore, in this article I’ll show you a way that you can use Sector Maps to quickly identify stocks that are worth more detailed analysis.
