Requirements
1. You need to have an active account with Interactive Brokers. If you would like to arrange an account we recommend you contact Interactive Brokers directly.
Important!
When filling in your application form, you will be asked how you found out about Interactive Brokers. Under this question will be a field called Source Code.NOTE: To ensure IB are aware you're using their data feed with Market Analyst 6 it is critical you enter the following code into the Source Code field:
Source Code: 10107

2. You need to have the Trader Workstation 4.0 program (Standalone version) installed on your computer, you cannot use the browser based version with MA6. You can download the program from here.
Please note to successfully run Trader Workstation in conjunction with MA6 you will need to ensure that you have the latest Java installed. You can download the Java software from here.
3. You will also need to ensure you have access to the External Data Access module which is included in all of our data packages (Australian EOD package starting from $49 per month). To arrange a trial of this module, or to set up a subscription please call the sales team on 1300 655 262.
Step 1 - Enabling Trader Workstation 4.0 for External Data Access
1. Open the Trader Workstation 4.0 program.2. Once you have logged in, click on the Configure menu.
3. Go to the API option, and in the expanded menu tick the "Enable ActiveX and Socket Clients" option.

4. Click the Configure menu, click API, click on All API Settings.
5. In the Trusted IP Addresses window on the bottom right click the Create button.
6. In the window that opens type the following IP address 127.0.0.1 and click the OK button.

7. You should now see the address listed in the Trusted IP Addresses window. Click the OK button to close the window.

4. Minimise the Trader Workstation program.
Note: While you will need to run the Trader Workstation 4.0 program before running Market Analyst 6 to access the data, you will only need to enable this API option once.
Step 2 - Setting up Market Analyst 6 to Access the Data from IB
1. Open Market Analyst 62. One you have logged into the program, click on the Settings menu and select the Configure Data Providers option.

3. In the window displayed left click the Interactive Brokers option and click Next.

4. Market Analyst will check all the required files are installed. If the are not a prompt will display with additional instructions. If no prompt displays within a few seconds you can click the Next button.
5. A number of available data exchanges will be displayed. Select the exchanges you wish to use with Interactive Brokers and add them to the right hand side table. Click the Next button to continue.

6. Click the Finish button to complete the data set up.
Step 3 - Opening a Chart
1. Press F3 on your keyboard.2. Enter the code for a stock you wish to view, located in one of the exchanges you selected to use Interactive Brokers.
3. Press Enter on your keyboard. Your chart should now open, you can tell the chart is using Interactive Brokers by looking at the chart title.
4 . (Ignore the steps 4 - 8 if you don't get an error) If you get the following error message click on the clicking here link within the message.

5. A web page will open and a download prompt should automatically display, Click the Run option. if the file download window does not appear automatically click the start download link on the page.

6. A Security Warning may appear, click the Run button to continue.

7. When the following window displays click the Yes button. The application will install.

8. If Market Analyst is currently open close Market Analyst and restart it. Go back to the beggining of Step 3 - Opening a Chart and repeat steps 1 - 3.
If IB is Still Not Working
If all else fails and IB is still not working follow these steps.1. Click on the following link and download and install this file. DOWNLOAD AX_960
2. Click the Next button for the following three screens.



3. The software will begin installing.

4. Once the installation is complete click the Finish button.

5. If you had Market Analyst Open restart it now.
