Setting an Alert
Open a chart for the security you wish to set an alert for.
Right click on a blank area of the chart, go to the Actions icon in the right click menu and select the Create Alert option from the list displayed.

The New Alert window will display.

Tip: If you have a Horizontal Line on your chart you can set an alert by right clicking on the line rather than a blank area of the chart.
Set the trigger amount for the alert then select the Trigger Type. There are 4 options available:
Crosses Equal to or Below: Primarily for use on End of Day data charts. Lets you set an alert for a stock where the low of the daily bar has crossed at, or below the set price.

Closes Equal to or Below: For use on either EOD or Intraday charts. Lets you set an alert for a stock where the price of the code closes on, or below the set price.

Closes Equal to or Above: For use on either EOD or Intraday charts. Lets you set an alert for a stock where the price of the code closes on, or above the set price.

Crosses Equal to or Above: Primarily for use on End of Day data charts. Lets you set an alert for a stock where the high of the daily bar has crossed at, or above the set price.

Once the trigger type has been selected, you can enter some text into the Description section.
If you want a sound played when the Alert is triggered click the Browse button, and select a file from the list displayed. You can choose to loop the sound until the triggered Alert has been acknowledged by ticking the Loop checkbox.

Ensure the Active checkbox is ticked, then click the OK button. The Alert will be set, and will display in the Alerts Window.
The Alerts Window
The Alerts Window will display above the main Market Analyst program window when an Alert has been triggered. There are 4 states an Alert can display in when it is in the Alerts Window.


Active Alerts have been set, but have not yet triggered.

Disabled Alerts are inactive

Acknowledge Alerts have been triggered, and acknowledged by the user
