Where this is most beneficial is in the study of seasonal fluctuations stocks and commodities.  Commodities like Lumber have traditionally had seasonal patterns due to the saturation of quotas, this can be seen on the clock chart.

For those with the Astronomical version of Market Analyst, planetary seasonal analysis can also be performed. 

Clock Chart Properties

Planet:  The Astronomical Edition of Market Analyst allows charts where the outside wheel is defined as degrees of a planet rather than a simple calendar date.

Geo / Helio / Sidereal: Lets you adjust the type of Ephemeris (Geocentric, Heliocentric, Sidreal) being used to generate the degree values for the Planet option.

GMT Offset: Lets you adjust any GMT offset used on the Ephemeris.

Planet Item:  Lets you switch between Longitude or Rectascension.

Angle:

Always Show Time Controls:  Tick this checkbox to keep the time sliders in view (top right corner).

Show Cylinder:  Tick this checkbox to add a semi-transparent cylinder around the Clock Chart.

Colouring:  In the above example you can see the link changes colour at various times.  By default the line will change colour every year, however you can adjust this to a single colour for the entire line.

Tool Tip Heading Colour:  Use this option to adjust the colour of the Tool Tip Header line.

Tool Tip Background Colour:  Use this option to adjust the colour of the Tool Tip Background.

Tool Tip Transparency:  Use this slider bar to adjust the transparency of the tool tip window.

Background Colour:  Use this setting to adjust the background colour of the chart.

Logarithmic Scale:  Tick this checkbox to enable Log Scaling on the Clock Chart.
