Gann Swing Turn

The Gann Swing Turn scan searches for security’s where a high or low has been made, and price movement has started to turn towards the other direction (without yet making a new swing high or low).

These settings would scan for a 3 period Gann Swing Chart (using the outside bar in the swing calculations, however ignoring inside bars) where the current direction of the swing is down.  The Gann Swing Chart is using a 1 day time frame.

Movement of the Gann Swing Chart is downward, however a new swing low has not yet been confirmed.

Direction

Turns Down: Scan looks for a Gann Swing Chart where the direction of the current swing is downward, however a new swing low has not yet been confirmed.

Turns Up: Scan looks for a Gann Swing Chart where the direction of the current swing is upward, however a new swing high has not yet been confirmed.

Bar: Sets how many consecutive higher or lower bars must occur before a swing will turn. For example, if set to three, there must be three successive higher bars before a down trending market will swing up.

Outside Bar Calc: Sets how outside bars are used in calculating a valid swing.

Use Inside: If this option is checked, Inside Bars are used in counting swings, otherwise they are ignored.

Use Breakout: Takes large price movements into consideration if the high or low of a swing is broken before the set number of bars have occurred.  Can only be used on a Swing Chart using more than 2 bars.
