Actions Panel

The Actions Panel is a context sensitive list of actions available for the item you currently have selected (such as charts, or tools).

The Actions Panel makes common functions available to you directly from the left hand side panel container, which would otherwise only be available from a menu (therefore requiring more mouse clicks).

General Chart Actions

UnDock Page
Detaches the selected page from the Market Analyst 5 program window allowing you to move it to a second monitor (if available).

Download History
Downloads the complete set of data for the selected code.  (Requires an Internet Connection).

Invert Chart
Flips the chart 180 degrees.  The word INVERTED is also added to the header of any page that has this option enabled.

Turn On Wall Chart Mode
Enables the Wall Charts mode for the currently displayed chart.  For more information on Wall charts please click here.

Cross Hairs
Enables / Disables a cross hair function that is attached to your mouse cursor when moving over the chart window.

Traing Mode
Enables / Disables Training Mode for the selected chart.  For more information on Training Mode please click here.

Show Grid
Enables / Disables the Grid overlay for the selected chart.

Price Lock
Enables / Disables the price lock function.  This function locks your cursor to the Open, High, Low, Close or Mid Point of a bar on the chart.  (A small cross hair is also attached to your cursor when this function is enabled.

Save Pages As Template
Saves the selected chart settings, and any tools applied as a template for use in new charts.

Chart Type Actions

(This example uses a Bar Chart)

Export Data to Text
Allows you to save the raw Open/High/Low/Close/Volume information for the selected chart as a text file.

Copy Data to Clip Board
Allows you to copy the raw Open/High/Low/Close/Volume information to your systems memory.  Once copied, you can paste the data into 3rd party programs such as Notepad or Excel.

Save Settings as Default
Allows you to override the program default settings for the selected chart type.  (For example making Time Intervals the standard colour scheme for Bar charts).

Restore Default Settings
Allows you to restore the program default settings for the selected chart type.

Tool Actions

(This example uses a Moving Average)

Save Settings As Default
Allows you to override the program default settings for the selected tool.  (For example changing the standard colour for a moving average from red to blue).

Restore Default Settings
Allows you to restore the program default settings for the selected tool.

Add Tool to Group
Allows you to add the selected tool to a Custom Tool folder or the Tool Bar located along the top of the program.  For additional information please click here.
