Welcome to Market Analyst 5.  The articles within this knowledge base will take you through the essential sections of the program, providing you with a solid foundation to expand upon. 

Market Analyst 5 offers in-depth analysis tools and purpose built modules, built to assist you to become the best trader possible. With the knowledge of how to use all of the tools and modules available to you in Market Analyst 5, you will open up for yourself new avenues of trading discovery, helping you to become a better and more profitable trader.

Opening Market Analyst 5


CD keys are no longer used when installing Market Analyst.  A new login system has been introduced that requires a user name and password before the program opens.  This process requires an internet connection the first time the program is opened.



Your user name and password is automatically generated and supplied to you at the time of purchase.  Once entered into the login screen, you can tick the Remember checkbox so you do not need to re-enter the details each time the program is re-opened.

Once you have logged into the program you will be taken to the Market Analyst Home Page.


Home Page

The Home Page is broken into 3 sections:

  • Workbooks
  • Help Search
  • News



The Workbooks section displays the workbooks you have opened recently, including the time and date they were last accessed.

The Help Search section allows you to search this knowledge base from directly within the program itself.

The News section will display important announcements about Market Analyst 5 related topics.


Market Analyst Layout



Page Tabs:    Page Tabs allow you to navigate between the various charts you have opened.  By default the tab will display the code of the stock you have opened.  The Home page also has a page control tab, which is located on the left hand side of the program window.

Menu Buttons:    Menu buttons are used to access most functions available in the program.  This includes opening charts, selecting tools and adjusting global settings in the program.

History Bar:    The History Bar is displayed at the top of all open charts and is used to display an overview of the data file you have opened, and to navigate backwards and forwards through the charts data.  Adjustments to the zoom level can also be made from the History Bar.

Tool Bar:    Tools that you use on a regular basis can be added to the tool bar for quick access.

Page / Layer Buttons:    The Page button is used for page functions such as tiling, and auto cycle.  The Layer button is used display the layer panel (displayed on the right hand side of the chart).

Actions / Properties Panel:    This panel, displayed on the left hand side of the chart is the hub for all settings and actions performed on the object you currently have selected (such as the chart, a tool, etc).  This panel can be rolled away, however is locked into place by default.

Nav Console:    The Navigation Console adds a simple, easily accessible interface allowing you to move through out a chart.  By default, the console is located on the top left corner of the chart, but it is hidden from view.  The console is brought into view by holding your mouse cursor over the top left corner of the chart.

Charting Window:    All new charts you open will display here.
